Memory and Creativity

  1. Memory techniques like mnemonics and memory palace help. However, it is important to learn the context and be creative to use the data effectively.
  2. Spaced repetition to make memory of a data point more solid.
  3. Interleave to reduce connections related to the order of learning (like B comes after A, tell me what comes before U?).
  4. Creativity is the edges between the nodes, how you relate different data points you have.
  5. Constraints are your friend — remove most of the dots so that you look at new ways to connect the remaining dots.
  6. Questions are your next best friend, which comes a little later, a topic of its own.
