A Slow Dancing Start

She waltzed with me as I slipped into my pinafore
Stained Glass across the room concealed a silent Twin
Pale Skin, shrouded in fingerprints
The enmeshed contract trapped the stolen Prisoner

I caught her gaze while she glazed at me
Usually lost in thought, but now I was seen
Entangled memories resonated with my Reflection
Lost art of Stillness succumbed to conception

Ever Since,
A threading eye of a needle pierces my skin
My heart's a rotten bark
My gut, tied up in knots
Frozen in emotion, me and my woven Partner

Combing through the jealous Melody
Tugging at the expressionless Reality
She sat in grace with our souls ensnared
Prepared to face the trampled Pain

Forevermore,
Clasping hands move through a pining Insanity
A tug at my heart
Tonight we groove to a splendid Rhapsody
A slow dancing start

NOTESAn Exercise in Rhyme

I wanted to learn how to make a Worksheet1. AND I realized when someone teaches you in an order, there’s a good reason behind it. Creating a worksheet without an idea can be an effort without a result.

It is important to start with a clear understanding of what you want to convey and how you want to convey it. Not that the result is going to be bad – it’s not going to be what you want. Intentionality and direction matters.

  1. A worksheet is when you decide on an idea or a theme and create a list of appropriate words and their rhymes. You have them ready to choose as you write. More in Poetry/Lyrics ↩︎
