A Long Walk

A Long Walk

What is it that I own?
          Walking along this path,
A warm life in a cold world set in stone?

Shared reminiscences glitter.
                  As they drown,
Leave behind a being, of mementos bitter

Long has been the wait.
                          Patience as a virtue,
All along has been nothing but a bait

Rage of a tempest —
as I walk a long the star crossed path,
has kept me longing for the hope of a blessed.
