Moving to Toronto, I did a 180° from my life in Orange County. I did so many things for the first time that I realized how many things there are still left to do. I’ve also noticed doing things for the first time makes it soo much more exciting. So here’s a catalog of the changes in my life…
2024
Made tons of new friends
Went to eat out with others
Went to cafes which wasn’t for work
Group day trips
dumpster diving with a friend!
Niagara Falls
A few hikes on my own
Going to the range regularly
Learning music
Playing Cajon
Joined MMA, Boxing and Hapkido
Worked consistently on my pullups
Went to nearby towns with others
Parties and meetups
Going into the office
Going to events on my own
Watched the NYE fireworks
Tons of museums and movies
Wrote prose and poetry and blog
2025
Joined a choir – two performances so far!
Tried to get into Hart House archery but alas I was too late
Gardiner Museum (pottery and ceramics) and Railway museum
Went to a dance performance at Canadian Opera Company. And a play! And orchestras – they fun.
Took a trip to Ottawa and soon to Banff (Calgary as well)
Been playing with watercolors again
Wrote a couple stories
Went to a couple collaging events
More meeting friends and staying over
Got my US visa
Art tour in the legislative assembly in TO
Joined a reading group (and left it too~)
Philosophy talks
Started playing piano and more singing! And music jams!
Reading more fiction, even in Japanese haha
Did I mention I started dancing afro beats?
Joined a gym for the MMA and boxing classes, and then left it… oof.
Did end up going to Banff
Moved to San Francisco (did I spell that right? nope says the red squibble). My room looks mega cute, there’s a TV and good roomies (overflowing tears)
I got a real piano in SF and not just a midi!
Started going to the gym again and dancing here and there…
Top three goals for the rest of the year:
- Eat Better and work out more. Prioritize health.
- “Finish” more creative projects, not just stare at the screen.
- Go out and explore more, meet new people, etc, etc, you know the new city stuffs. I want to go to the archery range 😒
